Liberty at the Aces Tonight on Prime Video: Wilson vs Stewart in Vegas

Three games tonight: New York goes for a third win over defending-champion Las Vegas on Prime Video, the league-best Lynx visit Toronto for a rematch on Prime Video, and the Sun and Sky meet in Chicago with no national TV and a possible season debut on the line.

The WNBA's second-half week rolls on with a three-game Thursday slate. Two of the three stream on Amazon Prime Video, headlined by a rivalry game in Las Vegas. Here is every game tonight, how to watch, and why it matters.

New York Liberty (16-12) at Las Vegas Aces (19-8)

The game of the night. A'ja Wilson, the league's leading scorer at 26.2 PPG and the MVP front-runner, against Breanna Stewart, who has carried the Liberty with 29 points and seven assists in Tuesday's 113-109 win at Los Angeles. The Liberty have beaten the Aces twice this season: 87-76 in Las Vegas on June 23, and 93-85 in the Commissioner's Cup Final on June 30, though Wilson missed that Cup Final with an ankle injury. Las Vegas is trying to avoid dropping both home games to New York in the regular-season series.

Both teams come in sharp. The Aces rolled past Portland 98-83 on Tuesday behind Wilson's 28 and 14 and Jackie Young's 25, shooting 58 percent from the floor. The Liberty have won three straight, averaging 102.3 points in that span but also allowing 100.3, a pace that will get tested against a Vegas offense clicking on all cylinders. Jonquel Jones, fresh off her All-Star Game MVP (22 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists), anchors the New York frontcourt alongside Stewart. Las Vegas is a 4.5-to-6.5-point favorite depending on the book.

Aces OUT Cheyenne Parker-Tyus (concussion, Aug 1), Kierstan Bell (leg), Janiah Barker (season, leg). NaLyssa Smith is a game-time decision (undisclosed) but coach Becky Hammon expects her to play.

Minnesota Lynx (23-6) at Toronto Tempo (10-17)

Tipoff 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Amazon Prime Video (national stream) + TSN/TSN+ (Canada) + Victory+ (Minnesota local, free).

A rematch of Tuesday's game in Minneapolis, which the Lynx won 100-93 behind rookie Olivia Miles's 24 points and eight assists. Napheesa Collier, in her Target Center home debut, added 15 points in 24 minutes on a minutes restriction as she works back from offseason surgery on both ankles. She started 2-for-8 from the field but finished 4-for-5, and the Lynx hit 14 of 25 from three (56 percent) to extend their winning streak to eight, the longest active run in the league.

Toronto has lost four straight and eight of nine. Marina Mabrey scored 25 in the Tuesday loss and leads the Tempo at 21.1 PPG. Sandy Brondello is back on the bench after serving her one-game suspension earlier this month. The Lynx are 12-point favorites, and the question is less about the result than how many minutes Collier logs as her ramp-up continues.

Connecticut Sun (7-21) at Chicago Sky (9-18)

The least compelling matchup on paper, but it carries one genuine storyline. DiJonai Carrington is a game-day decision to make her long-awaited Sky debut after missing the first 27 games with a left foot sprain. The Sky signed her this offseason knowing she would not be available until after the All-Star break. Coach Tyler Marsh is hopeful she can go Thursday. If she plays, it will be her first game in a Chicago uniform.

The Sun are without Brittney Griner (knee, out until at least Aug 2) and Aaliyah Edwards (knee, Aug 2), gutting their frontcourt. Skylar Diggins remains out for Chicago (knee, week-to-week, targeting an Aug 3 return). The Sky are 3.5-point favorites. Connecticut won the last meeting 92-63 on June 22, but that was before the injuries stacked up.

Last Night

Dream 82, Wings 81 (USA Network, Arlington). Allisha Gray scored five of her 25 points in the final seconds, hitting three late free throws and then the game-winning jumper off a Rhyne Howard assist, as Atlanta overcame a 15-point deficit. Angel Reese returned from her July 19 knee injury with 22 points and 12 rebounds, her 18th double-double, and the Dream swept the season series 3-0. Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas with 24, Azzi Fudd added 20, and Paige Bueckers had 16. Jessica Shepard had 16 points and 14 rebounds, her WNBA-leading 19th double-double. The Dream (17-10) have won four straight and swept the season series 3-0; the Wings (18-10) could not solve Atlanta in any of their three meetings.

Mercury 91, Valkyries 89 (USA Network + CNBC, Phoenix). Kahleah Copper scored 27 and Alyssa Thomas added 25 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists as Phoenix overcame a 13-point deficit. DeWanna Bonner had 17 and 10. The Mercury (11-18) have won three straight. The Valkyries (19-9) fell 3.5 games behind the league-best Lynx.

Tracking: Aliyah Boston's Knee

Fever center Aliyah Boston is day-to-day after landing hard on her right knee in Tuesday's win at Seattle. Coach Stephanie White called it precautionary and said it "wasn't really worth the risk" to play her in the second half. Boston has been managing a right lower-leg issue all season, dating to the Unrivaled league in February, and missed three games earlier this year. Her status for Friday's game at Portland (10:00 PM ET, ION) is the open question.

Friday's Slate

Three games on ION Friday night: Dallas at Washington (7:30 PM ET), Seattle at Atlanta (7:30 PM ET), and Indiana at Portland (10:00 PM ET). The Fever-Fire game is the one to watch if Boston suits up.
