WNBA All-Star Game Tonight on ABC: Bueckers vs Clark at 8:30 ET

The league's 30th-anniversary All-Star Game tips at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC from United Center, with Paige Bueckers headlining Team Coop against Caitlin Clark's Team Spoon after the two finished 1-2 in fan voting separated by fewer than 22,000 ballots. Angel Reese, the game's biggest availability question all week, said Friday her knee is good and will suit up for Team Coop in her Chicago return. Last night, Dallas rookie Azzi Fudd became the first rookie ever to win the 3-point contest and Washington took the inaugural Shooting Stars. Regular-season play resumes Tuesday.

It is the league's 30th-anniversary showcase, and the format leans into that history. Hall of Famers Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon serve as honorary general managers and drafted the 22 All-Stars, with Aces coach Becky Hammon on Team Coop's bench and Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve on Team Spoon's. The two headliners were nearly even at the top of the ballot. Bueckers led all players with 1,045,051 votes, Clark was second with 1,023,321, only 21,730 apart. They land on opposite benches. Team Coop starts Bueckers alongside Breanna Stewart, Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard and Gabby Williams; Team Spoon starts Clark with A'ja Wilson, rookie Olivia Miles, Aliyah Boston and Jessica Shepard. The winning team's chosen Chicago charity receives the larger share of a $100,000 pool.

The single open question all week was Reese's left knee. She left Atlanta's 93-91 win over Chicago last Sunday when the knee buckled on a jump stop under the basket, and with the Dream off through the break there was no injury report to clarify it. Reese answered it herself Friday in Chicago: her knee is good. She is playing in her third All-Star Game, her first representing Atlanta after an April trade sent her from the Sky for two first-round picks, and she is back in the city where she spent her first two pro seasons. She even arrived with her own Barbie doll. Reese is a Team Coop reserve, while her Dream teammates Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray play for Team Spoon. (AP)

Last Night in Chicago: Fudd's Rookie First, and a Shooting Stars Debut

Azzi Fudd won the State Farm 3-Point Contest on ESPN, becoming the first rookie and the first UConn alum to take the title. The 2026 No. 1 pick scored 30 in the final round, hitting her first six shots, to beat Portland's Bridget Carleton, who managed 19 after a 29-point opening round. Fudd and Carleton advanced out of a six-woman field that also included Rhyne Howard, Janelle Salaun, Marina Mabrey and Natisha Hiedeman. With Clark out for a third straight year and two-time reigning champion Sabrina Ionescu not entered, the contest guaranteed a first-time winner. (ESPN)

The new Kia Shooting Stars event, which replaced the Skills Challenge, went to Team Washington: WNBA legend Elena Delle Donne, Mystics center Shakira Austin and 17-year-old high-school star Jezelle "GG" Banks, who hit the clinching 4-point half-court shot. They scored 31 in the final to beat Team Seattle (Lauren Jackson, Flau'jae Johnson, Tatianna Griffin), after leading the first round with 35. (Bleacher Report)

Looking Ahead: The Second Half Starts Tuesday

No regular-season games Sunday or Monday. The schedule resumes Tuesday, July 28 with five games, headlined by Indiana at Seattle on ESPN at 9:30 PM ET and the league-best Lynx (22-6) hosting Toronto at 8:00 PM ET.
